Amara Raja and Johnson Controls tie up for new battery technologies

Advanced batteries technology will help to meet strict emission standards in automotive vehicles, said the firms. The advanced grid technology is critical to meet performance requirements for the Bharat VI environmental norms going into effect in 2020.

Amara Raja will license Johnson’s proprietary PowerFrame grid technology, which is claimed to be 66 per cent more durable and corrosion-resistant than other grid designs. This technology will be tested in multiple cities around the world, in the most extreme, real-world conditions, across the full range of automotive low-voltage battery products.
